Alcalali

Alcalalí is located within the Vall del Pop, next to the River Gorgos. Sitting 240 m above sea level it is situated between Monte Seguili and the Carrascal, 79 km from Alicante, 96 km from Valencia and 20 km from the coast.

The name Alcalalí has it’s origins in Arabic. It was originally a settlement of potters, certified by artifacts and utensils discovered in different excavations.

The village itself is located deep in the heart of Vall del Pop. The region is surrounded by nature and breathtaking panoramic views which change with the seasons.

The people of Alcalalí maintain the traditions and culture inherited from their ancestors and are known for their hospitality and informal friendliness. The village centre still conserves the character and forms typical of a traditional Mediterranean town.

Its basic structure is that of Arabic constructions; narrow steep streets on little hills and ridges. Throughout the whole village one can appreciate the finely wrought windows decorated with flowers and lace curtains.
