Calpe

At the heart of the Costa Blanca sits the historic fishing village Calpe (Calp in Valencian). Calpe is an excellent tourist resort and is home to a multi-national mixture who have relocated in Calpe town and surrounding areas.

The town itself is easily accessed from the main N332 coast road and AP7 Motorway, putting it within easy location of the airports.

Calpe was inhabited a number of different Mediterranean cultures including Iberians, Phoenicians and Romans who all found a surveillance privileged point in this land, thanks to the Peñón de Ifach.

Orba ChurchThe dominate feature of Calpe is the Peñón de Ifach, a huge rock formation which has been declared a nature reserve. The Ifach is an impressive 332mhigh, and is climbed daily by many people enjoying the breathtaking views inland and on a clear day out to the island of Ibiza, and best of all it is free.

Boasting some of the most stunning beaches on the Costa Blanca, the Calpe seafront is clean and tidy with an abundance of welcoming bars and high quality restaurants

Shopping & Markets

Calpe offers everything by way of shops and stores with traditional Spanish items to modern electrical outlets. The town has seven major supermarkets and many smaller specialists bakers and butchers. Markets are held on Saturday and Wednesday in the main town.

The restaurants are to be found in abundance and cater for everyone from traditional Spanish tapas bars to fast foods. International restaurants providing cuisine from around the word including world the variety is seemingly endless.
