Moraira

Originally an old fishing town Moraira is truly a stunning town with the beautiful blue Mediterranean sea and stunning mountain backdrop.

Moraira is a popular tourist attraction with a blend of modern facility and tradition Spanish ambiance. It boasts fine sandy beaches with Blue Flag recognition.

At one time the cove of Portet in Moraira was shelter for Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Arab and traders. Today the area is well suited for nautical sports and attractions. The seafront of Moraira features the 1742 castle with Royal Borbon family shield over the doorway.

Shopping & Markets

The larger supermarkets are on the outskirts of Moraira, but the main streets are full of boutiques and stores selling local arts and crafts. The weekly market held on a Friday is large and the stalls are full of a variety of wares from freshly grown produce to leather goods, rugs and pottery.

 

Restaurants

The are a number of outstanding places to eat in Moraira including Le Dauphin, Rondo and La Luna. Several of the restaurants boast Michelin stars, and there are numerous place to choose from catering for all tastes and appetites.
