Orba
Orba is a small town and municipality in the of Marina Alta in the Valencian Community, Spain.
It is situated in the River Gerona valley and is bordered by Pego to the north; Benidoleig and Ondara to the north-east; Jalón and Pedreguer to the east and Parcent and Alcalali to the south.
The town has many amenities including mini-supermarkets, restaurants and cafe-bars, hair stylist salons and a barbers shop. The town is also well served with four banks, two builders merchants and estate agents. In addition to the indigenous population, the town and surrounding area is now home to expatriates from throughout the European Union, many of whom are permanent residents and are gainfully employed within the local community.
Shopping & Markets
You're never far away from really great and remarkably priced food, drink and local shops within the village. It's possible to go out to eat locally every evening for a week, and never have to go back to the same place twice. Dependant upon the restaurant you choose, the style of food varies from Spanish specialities, through pizzas and pastas, to fish and chips.
Orba boasts a small supermarket, various shops - butchers, bakers, greengrocer, off-licence, newsagent, banks, a pharmacy, medical and dental surgeries. Orba hosts a weekly market on Wednesdays. Some English is spoken within the village, so a minimal knowledge of Spanish is usually enough.
